Annone

Description

Annone is named after the white elephant that Pope Leo X kept in the Vatican gardens, and the perfume has the same improbable, exotic quality. Saffron and mango open it — a strange pairing that works because bergamot holds the two apart — and rose with iris gives the middle a powdery, almost cool centre. The base is where it turns serious: agarwood, cypriol and musk, dry and resinous. Composed by Arturetto Landi.
