Sushi Imperiale by Bois 1920 is a warm spiced oriental built on a bright citrus overture. Bergamot, mandarin and lemon open crisp and clean, sharp enough to read as fresh for the first few minutes.
Then it turns: pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon draw the composition inward, with rose keeping the spice from going dry. Sandalwood, tonka bean and vanilla close it in a soft, edible warmth that lasts on skin and on fabric. The name is a nod to contrast rather than to cuisine — cool and clean above, dense and sweet below.
