Part of Affinessence’s “diamonds of freshness”, Combava-Cédrat sets the sparkling intoxication of Calabrian cedrat against the originality of combava — kaffir lime, a small green citrus of formidable power native to Indonesia, more bitter and more aromatic than any lemon. Lime and mint add their energising essences to this radiant monochrome, cool and faintly herbal rather than sweet. Underneath, intense cold woods pricked with cardamom give the composition its backbone and hold it on the skin long after a conventional citrus would have gone. Sharp, green and built for heat.
