Hao

Description

Hao moves from powder to dessert to incense, and holds together the whole way. Orris, lotus and Sicilian orange open it cool and slightly waxy, the lotus giving a clean, watery floral note under the citrus. Then it warms sharply: caramel, Australian sandalwood, Madagascar vanilla and ambergris fill the heart, sweet and creamy without tipping into confectionery. Myrrh, white oud, Cambodian oud, musk, frankincense and cedarwood close it resinous and smoky. A gourmand with a temple in the base — unusual, and one of the more memorable things here.
