Description
Burdel opens on Syrian cumin — a material most houses avoid, used here deliberately for its warm, skin-like quality — with Guatemalan cardamom, Greek cistus and Calabrian bergamot around it. The heart is resinous and dry: gurjum balm, Indian cypriol and Brazilian guaiac wood, with lily of the valley the only soft thing in the composition. Buaya oudh from Laos, Indonesian sandalwood, ambergris and Madagascan vanilla close it dense and animalic. Not a beginner’s fragrance, and not meant to be.
