Description
Chimaera carries an enormous list and uses it to build something genuinely dark. Leather, Tolu balsam, saffron and black pepper open it, with a soil tincture giving the top an earthy, almost damp quality. Honey, red pepper, carnation, iris, sage, peony and magnolia fill the heart, the honey turning sticky and animalic against the spice. The base is where it settles: tobacco, more leather, agarwood, benzoin, pine and Canadian balsam, patchouli, labdanum and cashmere wood. Heavy, resinous and built for winter.
