Hyakutake

Description

Hyakutake opens cold — eucalyptus and cardamom with Calabrian bergamot and lemon, mentholic and sharp, closer to mountain air than to citrus. Orris cools it further in the heart, with ambergris adding a salty warmth, incense a thin line of smoke, and pansy a soft floral touch that keeps it from turning clinical. Larch, Australian sandalwood, Haitian vetiver, tobacco and musk close it dry and woody, the tobacco giving the finish a warmth the opening never suggested. Bracing at first, quietly warm at the end.
