Antoine Lie rebuilt the house’s most famous perfume and kept its character while changing almost everything underneath. A special quality of lavender opens it beside pink peppercorn and orange blossom, cinnamon and pine tar give the heart its smoky, resinous turn, and the base is soft leather rather than tannery — patchouli, cedarwood and labdanum smoothed by vanilla and tonka bean. Comfortable, powerful and bright at once, with the projection an extrait ought to have.
