Cécile Zarokian started from the word itself — RU BI KO NA, four sounds that put the deep red of a ruby next to the idea of an icon. The perfume follows: bergamot and raspberry open it bright and faintly jammy, rose and jasmine give the heart its warmth, and patchouli with vanilla and amber makes the drydown deep and glowing. Chic inside out, as the house puts it, and one of the easier Puredistance perfumes to fall for immediately.
