The fragrance Ormonde Jayne was built on. Black hemlock is the reason: a dark, resinous conifer note nobody had used in perfumery before, and it sits in the heart with violet and jasmine absolute around it. Cardamom and coriander open it, vetiver, cedarwood and sandalwood carry it out. Still the most recognisable thing the house makes.
