Mémoire de Daisen In is named after a Zen garden in Kyoto, and it holds the same stillness. Kumquat and bergamot open it bright, with a hint of nutmeg keeping it from being simply citric. Alba rose, peony and clean musk fill the heart — a garden in bloom, but a restrained one, nothing loud in it. Ambroxan and maple wood close it warm and woody. Calm rather than exciting, and the easiest of the travel fragrances to wear at work.
