Description
Orange blossom opens it, but only briefly — Star of the Season is really about iris, and Dominique Ropion uses a great deal of it. The heart is powdery and cool, rose adding colour and patchouli adding a dusky, earthy edge that keeps the iris from turning cosmetic. The drydown is where it warms up: vanilla and almond give a soft, faintly gourmand sweetness, with sandalwood underneath holding the structure. Elegant and slightly old-world, worn by men and women, and best in cool weather.
